“Brought up in the post World War II bubble” struck me. I was, too, and from my perspective in 2025, I think that bubble was an illusion based on my privilege of having been raised in a comfortable white, middle class environment in the US. Thank you for your beautiful words.

In hindsight, that bubble does seem like an illusion. It was fragile and it surely has popped.

Indeed. Sometimes in the midst of so much chaos I wish for my comfy illusion like a recently sober alcoholic might crave a drink.

Yes, and amen. Remembering the words of Jesus when he told us in John 16:33, there will be all kinds of trouble but take heart, he has overcome the world. May we cling more tightly to this hope today and always.

We surely are, all of us, poets. Whether we realize it or not, our best life is found in listening to the gentle voice from heaven, the One who promises forever, the One who walked on water and silenced the darkness, the One who abides within believers everywhere. Our best life comes from knowing the beautiful of His gentle voice... and the whispers of most every poet can be heard in the wind's soft healing, the Lord's glorious grace, the music of the spirit who knows He can heal us. Only He, never a politician. God bless you. Your voice is beautiful!
